My Obamacare Story

It all started when I found out I had late stage breast cancer while temporarily uninsured during the Great Recession in 2011. I was one of the very first people to benefit from the Affordable Care Act. After expressing my gratitude and regret at being an irresponsible citizen in an opinion piece I wrote for the Los Angeles Times, my life was forever changed. I became a lay expert on the Affordable Care Act and helped spread the word about this historical piece of legislation. I vowed I’d never be irresponsible again and have been blogging, educating myself, and spreading the word ever since.

I blogged so much I wrote a book.

Read up on everything I learned about the Affordable Care Act, Social Security, Medicare, and the history of health care reform in America in my blog, Health Hazards.
